TRAUMA INFORMED COACHING

Michelle Jackson
As the founder of Called by Name: Collaborative and Transformational Healing, I guide clients through shifting from self-doubt to self-compassion, reclaiming their ability to make choices, and finding meaning in their experiences—not as justification for trauma but as evidence of their resilience and growth. Trauma does not define you; instead, it becomes a chapter in your story that reflects your strength and healing.
My academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia College and the full graduate coursework for a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, with a strong foundation in trauma-informed care and the principals of emotional healing and human development – all of which directly inform my coaching work today. In addition, I bring an extensive background in the criminal justice field, having worked in The Missouri State Public Defender’s Office alongside criminal defense attorneys, supporting clients inside jails and prisons and working closely with their families while witnessing the deep impact of generational cycles and systemic trauma. I later served as an out reach / court advocate/ educator, supporting survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and cild abuse – responding to forensic examinations, assisting with courtroom advocacy, developing exit strategies, and facilitating group therapy sessions focused on empowerment, recovery, and safety planning. These experiences uniquley equip me to walk alongside clients navigating trauma, transition, and complex life challenges with both insight and compassion.
Through faith-based, trauma-informed coaching, I help clients move forward—not just with survival, but with renewed purpose, confidence, and peace.
